A Cross Necklace In 24K Platinum
In summer 2021, a platinum cross necklace (24k) was purchased by the Ocean Sail team and tested by a few of our reviewers.
This cross necklace came with an Italian leather cord. You can choose from three different colors for the Italian leather (at no charge!): black, dark red and natural leather, we chose natural leather (brown leather).
We purchased the piece from a direct-to-consumer fine jeweler and design studio and had it shipped directly to our doorstep.
Our reviewers wore it everywhere during their day-to-day routine — to work, on walks, warm days & family get-togethers.
A Simple Cross Necklace
Since a 14k cross necklace is not Fine Jewelry, we considered this simple design’s quality (must be pure 24K Platinum), comfort and practicality (is pure platinum too heavy to wear all day?)
We also considered the brand’s policies for shipping, returns, and custom orders.
And, since the piece is giftable (whether for a birthday, Christmas or Valentine’s Day) we also evaluated the shipping box and interior packaging to see if the boxes and wrapping were the kind that we’d be happy to receive.
Is This Cross Necklace ‘Cheap’ ?
24K solid gold cross pendants are nice (and priced a bit higher), but this simple cross necklace is not ‘cheap’. It is a solid piece of pure platinum and an affordable (and durable) alternative to a 24k gold pendant.
But is fine platinum jewelry better? You bet it is, platinum is an extremely hard metal and with a bit of care this will last for generations.

This 24k platinum cross pendant was worn by me for a few days, in all conditions, with no issues. Friends and family complimented the design and asked me where it was purchased.
I really like the quality in addition to the casual look of the leather strap, it is a very outdoorsy look. This pure platinum cross is a solid heavy piece of jewelry and is suitable to be worn everywhere.
Dislikes: The leather strap may be a bit too long for most people.
Overall Recommendation: I highly recommend this piece of jewelry, especially as a reminder of the daily practice of one’s Christian Faith and plan on purchasing one as a gift.

I am a full-time Private Care Manager who likes to hang out with my grand-kids. I wore this cross necklace during the weekend, in warm weather, and during my daily routines.
The piece is heavy (the platinum seems indestructible), but this can be worn by both sexes. I received lots of compliments from my husband.
Dislikes: I really don’t have any dislikes about this jewelry piece.
Overall Recommendation: I would recommend this piece to anyone. I wouldn’t let my grandchildren wear this until they are much older, but this platinum cross necklace would make a great gift for a spouse.
TL;DR: The piece is outdoorsy, a great gift, but the leather cord may not be for everyone.
